John 14:2 ...“In My Father’s house are many rooms.  I am going there to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am.  You know the way to the place where I am going."

The Christian life is a life of hope. We trust God for the future and put our trust and hope in Him. This verse helps us construct visual & mental images of where we will spend eternity and dream about living face to face with Christ when our physical lives here on earth are over.

I do not believe God wants us to look back but to look forward. He wants us to plan for the future. He wants us to dream about the future. Yes, we are to learn from the past, but we are to plan for the future. Several times in the Bible He paints a picture for us of our future home and life in heaven. He wants us to look forward to it and to try to imagine what it will be like. Don’t look back.  Keep your eyes on the what is ahead. Luke 9:62 says, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” God wants us to dream and look forward to the future and expect Him to do amazing things.

Personally, I like that because those of you who know me well, know that I am a dreamer. God made me a dreamer. My dad raised me and still tells me, “John, the moment you stop dreaming is the moment you stop living.” I like to look at the future and picture not only what heaven will be like but also picture what my life and ministry will be like here. And they aren't small dreams. They are big dreams (to me). You might call them BHAGs or "Big Hairy Audacious Goals".

Maybe the biggest dream that is still materializing right in front of me is the dream God gave me back in 1998 to start a new church called Meadow Spring. A dream for a church that would be different than any other church in the community. A church that would break the mold on the traditional way of doing things. A church that would stand strong on the truth of the Bible - unshakable, uncompromising - but would be extremely flexible, tolerant, innovative, and cutting edge in methodology. And in the last 18 years, God has (and is) bringing that dream into reality far beyond my wildest dreams which means Meadow Spring is a living example of Ephesians 3:20 that says, "God can do anything you know - far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!" God has proven, and is proving, the truth of that verse over and over and over.

What are you dreaming for? What "Big Hairy Audacious Goal" are you dreaming for?
