I'm reading and studying Acts in my quiet times and I'm sensing some incredible challenges from the heart of God. Challenges that will most likely flesh themselves out in a teaching series later this year. Challenges that all start with "What if...?" Basically, "What if what happened in Acts, happened at Meadow?"

  • What if...we prayed for the promises of Jesus to become reality and we never gave up until they did?
  • What if...we spoke the cultural language of those who are far from God?
  • What if...God suddenly saved hundreds maybe even thousands of people through Meadow Spring?
  • What if...we prayed - I mean really prayed?
  • What if...we were awe struck?
  • What if...we had faith in Jesus' name?
  • What if...we spoke their language?
They’re speaking our languages, describing God’s mighty works!
— Acts 2:11 (Msg)

Who's "our"? ... Answer? - "all who are far off" (Acts 2:39); all who are separated from God; all who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus; all who are not followers of Jesus.

What if...we spoke their language in our praise and worship and not some insider "christianeze" verbiage or style that is only understood or practiced by Christians? What if we used their language in our style of music, our verbiage, our dress?

  • What if...we prayed for the promises of Jesus to become reality and we never gave up until they did?
  • What if...we prayed like the early disciples did...watching for God to answer and thanking Him continually?
  • What if...we pray more for the advancement of the Church than we talk about advancing the Church?
  • What if...we prayed for and entered open doors to speak the message of Jesus with clarity?
  • What if...what happened in the book of Acts happened at Meadow?

What if?
